The Bhagwant Mann anti-drug campaign in Punjab continues to gain momentum as Punjab Police arrested 116 drug smugglers on Day 416 of its ongoing drive ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’.
Bhagwant Mann: Major Seizures in Statewide Operations
During coordinated raids conducted across multiple districts, police recovered 1.04 kg of heroin, 22 kg of poppy husk, 388 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹800 in drug money. The operations targeted key supply points and local networks involved in drug distribution.
Over 60,000 Arrests in Ongoing Campaign
Officials stated that since the launch of the campaign, a total of 60,008 drug smugglers have been arrested in 416 days, reflecting the scale and persistence of the crackdown against narcotics in the state.
Focus on Rehabilitation Alongside Enforcement
In addition to strict legal action, authorities are also working on de-addiction efforts. Around 44 individuals were persuaded to undergo rehabilitation and treatment, highlighting a balanced approach of enforcement and social reform.
Zero-Tolerance Policy Under Mann Government
The crackdown is being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, whose government has adopted a zero-tolerance stance against drugs and organized crime.
Coordinated Efforts by Specialized Units
The operations are being supported by units such as Anti-Narcotics Task Force Punjab, ensuring intelligence-based action and continuous monitoring across regions.

Police officials reaffirmed that the campaign will continue with intensified raids and public awareness initiatives, aiming to dismantle drug networks and reduce addiction levels in the state.
