Bhagwant Mann Govt Intensifies Anti-Drug Drive: 126 Smugglers Arrested on Day 419 in Punjab

Bhagwant Mann: The anti-drug campaign in Punjab continues with strong momentum as Punjab Police arrested 126 drug smugglers on Day 419 of its ongoing operation ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’.

Bhagwant Mann: Major Recoveries in Statewide Crackdown

During coordinated raids across multiple districts, police recovered 992 grams of heroin, 2,564 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and ₹23,150 in drug money. The operations targeted active drug supply networks and local distributors.

Over 60,000 Arrests in Campaign So Far

Officials confirmed that with the latest action, the total number of drug smugglers arrested has reached 60,596 in 419 days, highlighting the scale and persistence of the campaign.

Focus on Rehabilitation Alongside Enforcement

In addition to strict action against traffickers, authorities are also focusing on rehabilitation. Around 25 individuals were persuaded to undergo de-addiction and treatment, promoting recovery alongside enforcement.

Zero-Tolerance Approach Under Mann Government

The crackdown is being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, whose government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs and organized crime.
