In a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking, the Commissionerate Police in Amritsar has busted a heroin smuggling network, arresting three individuals and recovering over one kilogram of heroin and a large sum of drug money.

Major Drug Nexus Busted in Amritsar: 1.01 Kg Heroin, ₹45.19 Lakh Seized

According to the Punjab DGP, the police seized 1.01 kg of heroin, ₹45.19 lakh in cash, and a cash counting machine during the operation. The crackdown was part of a broader initiative to dismantle drug cartels operating in and around Punjab.

This development comes as part of Punjab Police’s intensified campaign to disrupt transnational narco-financial networks and make the state drug-free. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating all elements of the drug supply system, including financiers, couriers, and cross-border handlers.

The operation marks another step in the ongoing 'War Against Drugs' being led from the front by Punjab Police, which continues to strengthen its intelligence network and inter-agency coordination to track the flow of narcotics.
