According to Special DGP Arpit Shukla, over 250 police teams were deployed, conducting raids at 499 locations across Punjab. The coordinated effort resulted in 71 FIRs being registered in a single day, signalling the Mann government’s commitment to fighting the drug menace head-on.
The state government reiterated its stand on maintaining zero tolerance against narcotics, with regular monitoring of the campaign being conducted at the highest levels. Senior officials from the Home and Police departments have been tasked with reviewing daily progress to ensure accountability and efficiency in operations.
As part of the larger mission, the government is also investing in awareness campaigns in schools and villages, strengthening community policing models, and improving coordination with national agencies to cut off drug trafficking routes from across the borders. The administration remains firm that Punjab's youth must be protected from the clutches of substance abuse—an issue the Chief Minister has termed as both a social and national emergency.
