In what is being described as the biggest drug haul of 2025, Tarn Taran Police, under the leadership of the Punjab Government, has busted a major cross-border narco-smuggling module linked to Pakistan's ISI. The module was being operated by UK-based drug handler Lalli and managed in India by his associate Amarjot Singh alias Jota Sandhu, a resident of Bhittewad village in Amritsar Rural.

The police have arrested Amarjot and recovered a staggering 85 kilograms of heroin from his possession. Officials revealed that Amarjot was receiving large consignments from cross-border smugglers and further distributing them across Punjab. His residence reportedly functioned as a major stash point for the entire network.

A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to identify the broader network of backward and forward linkages. Police said more arrests and recoveries are expected in the coming days.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Punjab DGP said, “We are actively pursuing leads and this major recovery reaffirms our commitment to a drug-free Punjab.”
The Bhagwant Mann-led government has maintained a strict stance on drug-related crimes, and this seizure marks a significant success in its anti-drug campaign.
The Punjab Police reiterated that it remains unwavering in its war against drugs, and such major recoveries are a result of persistent intelligence-driven operations.
