In a major breakthrough under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Police's State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Mohali, has uncovered a deep-rooted espionage network allegedly involving Jasbir Singh of Village Mahlan, Rupnagar. Singh, who operates a YouTube channel named “Jaan Mahal,” has been found in connection with Pakistan-based intelligence operatives and terror-linked individuals.
According to officials, Jasbir maintained regular contact with Pakistan Intelligence Operative (PIO) Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, and had close links with previously arrested Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a former official from the Pakistan High Commission expelled over spying charges.
Attended Pak National Day Event, Visited Pakistan Thrice
Jasbir Singh reportedly attended the Pakistan National Day function held in Delhi on Danish’s invitation, where he engaged with Pakistani army officials and vloggers. He also visited Pakistan in 2020, 2021, and 2024. His seized electronic devices have revealed multiple Pakistan-based contacts, which are now being forensically examined for evidence of data transmission or information leaks.
Attempted Cover-Up After Spy Arrest
Following the arrest of Jyoti Malhotra for spying, Jasbir attempted to delete all his communications with PIOs in an effort to evade detection. However, SSOC officials were able to retrieve critical digital evidence leading to the registration of an FIR in Mohali.
Punjab Police stated that thorough investigations are ongoing to dismantle the entire espionage-terror module and trace other operatives or facilitators within India. Authorities have stressed their commitment to upholding national security and ensuring strict action against all anti-national activities.
The Punjab government under Bhagwant Mann has reiterated its zero-tolerance approach towards terrorism and foreign-sponsored espionage.
