Bhagwant Mann: The Punjab Police continued its intensified crackdown on drug trafficking on Day 320 of the state-wide anti-drugs अभियान ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, conducting large-scale raids across the state and arresting 84 drug smugglers, officials said on Thursday.

According to Punjab Police, coordinated operations were carried out at 263 locations across Punjab, leading to the registration of 58 FIRs. The action was led with support from the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Punjab, as part of the ongoing War Against Drugs initiative.
Major Recoveries During Statewide Raids
During the raids, police recovered 40.1 kilograms of heroin, 609 intoxicant tablets and capsules, and a significant amount of drug-related money. Officials said the seizures reflect the scale of narcotics networks operating in the state and the sustained efforts being made to dismantle them.
Focus on De-Addiction and Rehabilitation
Alongside enforcement, the Punjab Police also emphasized rehabilitation. As part of the de-addiction drive, 24 individuals were motivated to undergo treatment and rehabilitation, reinforcing the government’s twin approach of strict action against smugglers and support for those battling addiction.
Over 44,600 Smugglers Arrested So Far
Police data revealed that over the 320-day campaign, a total of 44,630 drug smugglers have been arrested across Punjab. Officials termed the figures a strong indicator of the scale and consistency of the anti-drug operations being carried out under the initiative.
Commitment to Drug-Free Punjab
The anti-narcotics drive is being carried out under the broader vision of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government, which has repeatedly reiterated its commitment to making Punjab drug-free and secure. The Punjab Police said operations against drug syndicates will continue with the same intensity in the coming days.
“Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling drug networks and ensuring a Nasha Mukt Punjab,” officials said, adding that intelligence-led actions and public cooperation remain key to the success of the campaign.
