Bhagwant Mann has continued its statewide crackdown on organized crime under the ongoing “Gangsters Te Vaar” campaign, carrying out coordinated operations aimed at curbing gangster activities and strengthening public safety across the state.
Bhagwant Mann Intensifies Anti-Gangster Drive
According to Punjab Police, the latest phase of the operation was conducted in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) at multiple locations across Punjab. During the drive, authorities reported the arrest of 281 individuals, including two proclaimed offenders who had been evading law enforcement agencies.
Over 34,800 Arrests Reported Under Statewide Campaign
Police officials also stated that 11 weapons were recovered during the operation. The seizures are part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks, prevent illegal activities, and reduce the availability of unlawful firearms.
With the latest action, Punjab Police said the total number of arrests made under the anti-gangster campaign has reached 34,813 since the initiative was launched. Authorities maintain that sustained intelligence-based operations and targeted enforcement measures are helping dismantle organized criminal networks operating in different parts of the state.
Officials reiterated that the campaign forms a key component of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen law and order and ensure a safer environment for citizens. Police teams continue to conduct raids, monitor suspected criminal activities, and pursue individuals linked to organized crime.
Punjab Police has also appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information related to criminal activities. Authorities emphasized that information can be provided confidentially through dedicated helplines and other official channels.
The force stated that it remains committed to pursuing a zero-tolerance approach toward organized crime and will continue strategic operations aimed at making Punjab free from gangster-related activities.
