Bhagwant Mann Intensifies Crackdown Under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’; Over 40,000 Drug Traffickers Arrested

Punjab Police continues its sustained and aggressive campaign against drug abuse under Mission Yudh Nashian Virudh, marking 286 days of continuous action across the state. The statewide drive focuses on dismantling drug networks, strengthening prevention mechanisms and encouraging the youth to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.

According to official data shared by Punjab Police, coordinated raids and search operations were carried out at 305 locations across Punjab in the latest phase of the campaign. As a result of these operations, 68 drug smugglers were arrested, further tightening the noose around narcotics networks operating in the state.

Since the launch of Yudh Nashian Virudh, a total of 40,187 drug traffickers have been arrested over the past 286 days. The mission combines strict law enforcement with awareness drives, aiming not only to curb the supply of drugs but also to address demand by sensitising communities and youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
