Bhagwant Mann Intensify Anti-Drug Drive; 107 Smugglers Arrested on Day 335 of ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’

Officials said the initiative aims not only to curb drug supply but also to support recovery and reintegration of substance users into society.

Bhagwant Mann Day 335 of its statewide anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ intensified action against drug trafficking networks, arresting 107 drug smugglers across the state. The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Punjab.

According to official information shared by Punjab Police, multiple raids were conducted at various locations across Punjab as part of the sustained crackdown on narcotics. During these operations, the police recovered 53.6 kg of heroin, 3 kg of opium, 14 kg of ganja, 9,350 intoxicant tablets and capsules, along with ₹900 in drug proceeds.

The police also highlighted the human-centric aspect of the campaign, stating that 35 individuals were motivated to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation. Officials said the initiative aims not only to curb drug supply but also to support recovery and reintegration of substance users into society.

With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended during the 335-day-long campaign has reached 47,119. Punjab Police officials described the figures as evidence of the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs and its sustained commitment to dismantling narcotics networks operating in the state.

Reiterating the resolve of the state government, the police said the ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign continues to focus on strict enforcement, intelligence-based operations, and community participation to make Punjab drug-free. The campaign combines law enforcement with awareness, prevention, and rehabilitation measures.

Punjab Police urged citizens to cooperate with authorities by sharing information related to drug trafficking and substance abuse, stressing that public support remains crucial in winning the fight against drugs.
