Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann interacted with students during a visit to SR Government College for Women in Amritsar, where he encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and assured them that their concerns would be taken up by the administration.
According to Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Mann met the students and gave encouragement while listening to the demands raised by them. Cheema said the Chief Minister directed the concerned officials to examine the students’ requests during the interaction.
Bhagwant Mann Encourages Students to Pursue Their Goals
During his visit, Mann appreciated the achievements of the college’s students in academics, cultural activities and sports. He said girls were excelling across different fields and encouraged them to remain motivated and committed to their goals.
The interaction provided students an opportunity to directly communicate their concerns and requirements to the Chief Minister.
Directions Issued on Students’ Demands
Cheema said the demands raised by the students were taken seriously during the interaction and that directions were issued to the relevant officials.
According to a report by The Tribune, Mann assured the students that necessary arrangements would be made for an auditorium at the college, taking into account its academic and cultural activities. He also announced a bus service for the convenience of students.
Focus on Education and Student Facilities
The Chief Minister also apprised the students of initiatives being undertaken by the Punjab government in the education sector, according to the report.
The visit comes amid the Punjab government’s broader focus on education infrastructure and student facilities. The interaction at the Amritsar college also highlighted the role of direct engagement between students and government representatives in identifying institutional requirements.
