Bhagwant Mann Joins Nagar Kirtan Marking 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

He added that the participation of people from diverse communities highlights the deep respect the Guru’s message holds across faiths.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann participated in the Nagar Kirtan organised to commemorate the 350th martyrdom anniversary of ‘Hind Di Chadar’, Sahib Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The sacred procession began from Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi in Srinagar and is currently on its journey towards Sri Anandpur Sahib. Mann was accompanied by AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. All dignitaries paid obeisance at the holy feet of the Guru and offered prayers for peace, unity, and welfare of the people.

Participation Across Regions

The Nagar Kirtan will traverse through Jammu, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Dasuya, and Garhshankar before finally reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. Officials noted that a significant number of Kashmiri Pandits and members of the Hindu community also joined the procession, showcasing a strong spirit of communal harmony.

A Symbol of Sacrifice and Unity

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice is universally remembered as a milestone in the protection of religious freedom. Bhagwant Mann emphasised that the martyrdom of the Ninth Guru remains a guiding light for unity, compassion, and peaceful coexistence. He added that the participation of people from diverse communities highlights the deep respect the Guru’s message holds across faiths.

Government’s Commitment

The Punjab Chief Minister reiterated that his government is committed to spreading the spiritual teachings and humanitarian values of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to every corner of the world. He said that the 350th martyrdom anniversary is not just a historical remembrance, but a collective call to uphold the ideals of justice, courage, and religious harmony
