Punjab Police has released its “2025 at a Glance” report, showcasing a year of strong law enforcement outcomes under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The state police successfully maintained peace and harmony, resolving all reported terror-related incidents during the year.

A major focus remained on the anti-drugs campaign ‘Yudh Nashiyan Virudh’, under which nearly 40,000 arrests were made across 30,000 FIRs. In one of the biggest crackdowns on narcotics, over 2,000 kilograms of heroin were recovered in 2025 alone. Punjab also recorded an 88% conviction rate under the NDPS Act, the highest in the country, reflecting stronger investigations and effective prosecution.

Crime Down, Convictions Up

Technology-driven policing marked another milestone as PAIS 2.0 was introduced, enabling voice analysis to strengthen criminal investigations. The Safe Punjab Helpline crossed 10,000 FIR registrations, emerging as a crucial platform for citizen reporting and rapid response.

The report further highlights that 416 criminal modules were dismantled and 992 gangsters arrested, significantly weakening organized crime networks. As a result, major crimes witnessed a sharp decline — murder cases dropped by 8.7%, kidnapping and abduction by 10.6%, snatching by 19.6%, and theft by 34.3%.

In cybercrime control, Punjab Police managed to secure a ₹80 crore lien in cyber fraud cases out of ₹418.29 crore, ranking fourth highest in India for fund recovery.

Punjab Police reaffirmed its commitment to public safety, stating that people-centric policing, technology adoption, and zero tolerance against crime will remain central priorities to ensure a safe and secure Punjab.
