The Punjab Police has intensified its ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, arresting 81 alleged drug smugglers as part of its statewide anti-narcotics drive under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’.
According to the police, authorities recovered 420 grams of heroin, 5 kilograms of opium, 6,078 intoxicant pills, and ₹6,460 in suspected drug money during the latest operation. The action forms part of the sustained crackdown aimed at dismantling drug supply networks across Punjab.

In addition to enforcement measures, the Punjab Police said 23 individuals were counselled and motivated to undergo de-addiction and rehabilitation treatment, reflecting the government’s dual approach of strict action against traffickers while supporting those struggling with substance abuse.

The anti-drug campaign has remained a key initiative of the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government, with law enforcement agencies carrying out regular operations to curb narcotics trafficking and promote rehabilitation efforts.
