In a major breakthrough under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Police has successfully busted a cross-border arms smuggling racket. During the operation, police recovered six Glock 9mm pistols, four magazines, and four live cartridges. Preliminary investigations revealed that Vikramjeet Singh maintained direct contact with a Pakistan-based arms smuggler responsible for pushing weapons across the border. Based on his disclosure, authorities recovered two additional Glock pistols from a concealed location.

Further interrogation exposed that the accused supplied these weapons to local contacts under instructions from their Pakistani handlers. The arrests have also helped police trace a previous case involving the procurement of an AK-47 rifle from the same cross-border network.

A technical analysis of seized digital devices is currently underway to uncover the entire supply chain — including foreign handlers, financiers, and local collaborators.

The Punjab Police, under the Bhagwant Mann government, reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling transnational arms smuggling networks and ensuring peace and security across the state.
