Bhagwant Mann pays obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib on Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Purab

He said that Punjab, the land of Gurus, has always stood for humanity and compassion, and his government remains committed to carrying forward these values through welfare schemes and community initiatives.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid his respects at Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, on the auspicious occasion of the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikhism. Mann bowed before Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj, participated in Gurbani Kirtan, and sought blessings for peace, harmony, and prosperity in Punjab.

Sharing his heartfelt emotions, Bhagwant Mann said it was a divine privilege to bow his head in the sanctum of Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib, where the message of universal brotherhood and truth continues to inspire millions. He mentioned that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s philosophy of “Naam Japna, Kirat Karni, and Vand Chakna”—meditation, honest living, and sharing with others—remains the foundation for building a just and inclusive society.

The Chief Minister highlighted that Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings are timeless, emphasizing unity beyond caste, creed, and religion. He said that Punjab, the land of Gurus, has always stood for humanity and compassion, and his government remains committed to carrying forward these values through welfare schemes and community initiatives.

Mann further urged people to follow the Guru’s path of selflessness and service, stating that real devotion lies not only in rituals but also in uplifting the underprivileged and working for collective peace. He added that the state government will continue to support events and programs that spread the message of “Ek Onkar” and promote interfaith harmony.

Across Punjab, gurdwaras were beautifully illuminated, and thousands of devotees joined the celebrations with kirtans, processions, and community feasts (langars), marking the occasion with devotion and gratitude.
