Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann paid heartfelt tributes on the occasion of Saka Chamkaur Sahib, remembering the supreme sacrifice of Sahibzada Baba Ajit Singh Ji and Sahibzada Baba Jujhar Singh Ji, the elder sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, along with several brave Sikh warriors who attained martyrdom in the historic Battle of Chamkaur.

Commemorating 08 Poh, Bhagwant Mann recalled how Guru Gobind Singh Ji and a handful of Sikh warriors faced a massive Mughal army with unmatched courage and unwavering faith. Despite being vastly outnumbered, the Sikhs chose resistance over submission, setting an eternal example of bravery, sacrifice and commitment to righteousness.

According to Sikh history, on 08 Poh, Guru Gobind Singh Ji and a small group of Sikhs faced a massive Mughal force at Chamkaur Sahib. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the Sikh warriors chose to fight with determination rather than surrender. The elder Sahibzadas, despite their young age, displayed extraordinary valour and laid down their lives while defending the principles of justice and dharma.

Leaders across Punjab paid tributes to the martyrs, remembering their selfless sacrifice and eternal legacy. The martyrdom of the Sahibzadas continues to inspire millions, symbolising fearlessness, moral strength, and unwavering devotion to truth.

The elder Sahibzadas, despite their young age, fought valiantly on the battlefield and laid down their lives while defending Sikh values and the path of truth. Their martyrdom stands as a timeless symbol of fearlessness and devotion to justice.

Bhagwant Mann stated that the sacrifices made at Chamkaur Sahib continue to inspire generations and form the moral backbone of Punjab’s spirit. He emphasized that remembering these martyrs is essential to uphold the values of courage, equality and resistance against injustice.
