The Punjab Cabinet led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has approved the budget estimates for the financial year 2026–27. The state budget will be presented in the Punjab Assembly on March 8.
Sharing the update on social media, Mann said the budget will be tabled on Sunday, which also coincides with International Women’s Day. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the upcoming budget will play an important role in ensuring development, prosperity, and welfare for the people of Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann: Focus on development and prosperity
According to the Chief Minister, the budget aims to strengthen economic growth while focusing on welfare initiatives and infrastructure development across the state. He emphasized that the government is working with the goal of transforming Punjab into a prosperous and vibrant state once again.
Mann stated that the financial plan will prioritize policies that benefit farmers, youth, women, and the business community, while also improving public services and boosting employment opportunities.
Vision for ‘Rangla Punjab’
The Chief Minister also reiterated his government’s commitment to rebuilding a “Rangla Punjab” — a prosperous and progressive Punjab. He said the budget is expected to include initiatives that support inclusive development and enhance the overall quality of life for citizens across the state.
Further details regarding allocations and sector-wise spending are expected to be revealed when the budget is formally presented in the Assembly on March 8.
