Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday highlighted the impact of the state government’s ‘Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra Yojana’, stating that the initiative has strengthened the connection between senior citizens and their religious faith.

Praising the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Cheema said the scheme reflects a governance model where public service is treated as a duty. He added that the initiative has received widespread appreciation from people across the state.
According to Cheema, the scheme enables elderly citizens to undertake pilgrimage journeys with dignity and ease, ensuring they remain connected to their spiritual beliefs. The programme is aimed at providing support to those who may not have the financial means to travel to religious destinations.
