Bhagwant Mann: Punjab Police intensifies anti-gangster crackdown, 320 arrested in statewide operation

Bhagwant Mann, in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), continued its statewide anti-gangster campaign under ‘Gangstan Te Vaar’, carrying out a series of targeted raids at identified and mapped locations across the state. The latest operation marked Day 159 of the ongoing drive against organised crime.

According to Punjab Police, a total of 580 raids were conducted during the operation, resulting in the arrest of 320 individuals. The force also apprehended one proclaimed offender and recovered 10 weapons during the coordinated action.

320 arrested in statewide operation

The police said the campaign has led to a cumulative total of 41,385 arrests since its launch, reflecting the government’s continued efforts to dismantle gangster networks and curb organised criminal activities across Punjab.

The anti-gangster drive is being carried out with intelligence-based operations and coordinated enforcement by district police units and the AGTF. Authorities said such operations will continue to target criminal elements and strengthen law and order in the state.

The Punjab Police reiterated its commitment to ensuring a safer Punjab and appealed to the public to share information about gangster activities through its anonymous Anti-Gangster Helpline (93946-93946). The campaign is being conducted under the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government’s focus on tackling organised crime.
