Bhagwant Mann Seeks Live Telecast of His Clarification on January 15, Citing Global Sikh Sentiment

It should happen in full public view so that devotees remain connected to the process moment by moment and penny by penny.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday said he has been receiving messages from across the world regarding the issue of accountability of offerings (golak) and public transparency. Acknowledging the sentiments of the global Sikh community, the Chief Minister stated that his clarification scheduled for January 15 should be telecast live on all channels.

In a statement shared publicly, Bhagwant Mann said that when the accounts of the offerings are presented before the Sikh sangat, it should happen in full public view so that devotees remain connected to the process moment by moment and penny by penny.

Bhagwant Mann: Appeal for Transparency

The Chief Minister said he has formally requested the Jathedar Sahib to allow a direct live broadcast of his clarification. He emphasised that transparency is essential to maintain trust and to ensure that the sangat across India and abroad is fully informed.

Bhagwant Mann said the demand for live telecast reflects the collective feelings of devotees worldwide, who wish to witness the proceedings without any filters or intermediaries.

Commitment to Public Accountability

Stressing that his clarification will be supported by facts and evidence, the Chief Minister said openness is the only way to address concerns and misinformation. “Everything should be in the open, with complete clarity,” he indicated, adding that transparency strengthens institutions and public confidence.

Global Attention on January 15

The January 15 event has drawn attention from Sikh communities across different countries, making it a matter of global interest. By calling for a live telecast, Bhagwant Mann aims to ensure that the process remains credible, accountable and accessible to all devotees, regardless of location.

Message to the Sikh Sangat

Concluding his statement, the Chief Minister invited the sangat to join the proceedings on January 15, assuring them that he will present his clarification with full evidence. The move, he said, is guided by respect for faith, transparency and the collective conscience of the Sikh community.
