Chandigarh-Manali Highway reopens after 24 hours

Punjab News: In a breather for the Passengers the authorities have reopened the Chandigarh Manali Highway after it was shut due to land slides and Flash floods. Thousands of passengers were stuck at the Mandi district after the city witnessed continuous rains for the last one week. The authorities have been working on it day night to restore the work. Finally the passengers have a sense of relief after the Highway is opened.

Highway was blocked due to Flash Floods

More than 300 roads were closed in city and around 143 power transformers were rearranged. Many Tourists and passengers had to wait for hours and wait for the traffic to get clear to reach their destinations.  The Highway was blocked due to the rains and flash floods in the city on Monday night. Tourists came to enjoy the Hill station were blaming the civic authorities for the negligence.

Many people killed in Rain Related accidents

The Met Department has issued a warning for the rains and bad weather and advised the people to stay indoors to avoid any mishap as there were landslides and flooding all over the city. There are around 9 people died in the rain related accidents including drowning.
