CM Bhagwant Mann and Gurdas Maan Share Grief as Gurpanth Mann’s Last Rites Held in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday attended the funeral of Gurpanth Maan, brother of legendary Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan, in Chandigarh. CM Mann was present during the last rites to personally extend his condolences and share the grief of the Maan family.

The Chief Minister joined several family members, fans, artists, and political personalities who had gathered to pay their final respects. Speaking at the ceremony, Bhagwant Mann said, "The passing of Gurpanth Maan is not only a personal loss for the Maan family, but also a moment of mourning for Punjab. Gurdas Maan has always been a pride of Punjab, and in this time of sorrow, the entire state stands with him."

The presence of the CM was seen as a heartfelt gesture, reflecting the deep emotional and cultural connection between the state government and Punjab’s iconic artists. The Chief Minister also emphasized the immense contribution of Gurdas Maan in taking Punjabi language and culture to global platforms, and said the support shown by people from all walks of life highlights how deeply loved and respected the family is. 

The presence of both Bhagwant Mann and Gurdas Maan highlighted the strong bond between the state’s leadership and its cultural icons. The Chief Minister praised Gurdas Maan’s immense contribution to Punjabi music and culture, while offering prayers for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family in this difficult time.
