In a major citizen-friendly move, the Punjab government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has digitized RTO (Regional Transport Office) services, freeing people from the hassle, delays, and corruption often faced in government offices. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab shared that over 56 RTO services are now available online, allowing citizens to complete their work easily from home.

Earlier, people had to stand in long queues, make repeated visits to government offices, and often face corruption while obtaining driving licenses, vehicle passings, and other related services. Work delays and unnecessary harassment had become a common experience for many.
Over 56 RTO services now available online in Punjab
Now, under the new system, citizens can avail themselves of more than 56 services online through a single platform. They can also call the helpline number 1076, after which an authorized officer will visit their home to complete the required work.
The government emphasized that this initiative will eliminate the need for middlemen and bribery, ensuring that work is done on time with complete transparency. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s administration has stated that the move aims to make governance people-centric, transparent, and efficient.
This digital transformation marks another step in the Punjab government’s effort to bring essential services to citizens’ doorsteps while curbing corruption and bureaucratic red tape.
