CM Bhagwant Mann Flags Off Punjab’s First e-Hospital in Patiala, Empowering Patients with Online Registration and Reports

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann inaugurates the state’s first e-Hospital in Patiala, enabling patients to access registration, appointments, and reports online

On Monday, Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, launched the first e-Hospital in the state, which will be a significant advancement in the government’s initiative to digitise public healthcare services. Digital health will improve access, efficiency, and transparency in healthcare provisions for the citizens of Punjab.

At the launch event, CM Mann indicated that this e-Hospital model is a manifestation of his government’s vision to engage technology to act as a bridge between the health care infrastructure and the citizens accessing services.

“This is not a hospital, but a model for how technology can change lives. Patients will now save time, avoid line-ups, and access treatment and reports faster,” he stated.

Notable Features of Punjab’s First e-Hospital

The e-Hospital in Patiala has a digital patient management system that facilitates online registration, booking appointments, and downloading reports. Patients can now book consultations, obtain prescriptions, and even view lab results on their mobile phones or computers comfortably from home.

Additional features consist of

  • Online OPD registration and appointment tracking in real-time.
  • Digital medical records are used to securely store data and retrieve it when needed.
  • SMS notifications regarding test reports and follow-up reminders.
  • Linking to Aadhaar and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) for a comprehensive approach to patient data management.
  • According to officials, the system will help lessen paperwork, limit human error, and improve inter-departmental coordination.

Mann’s Vision for Healthier Punjab

CM Bhagwant Mann underscored that his government is devoted to ensuring quality healthcare for all of its citizens.

“Punjab’s health system needs to reflect compassion and ease. This e-Hospital is just the first step; we will expand this model across the state,” he said.

CM Mann also announced that more district hospitals would be converted into e-Hospitals in the coming months to facilitate modern lab technologies and telemedicine to reach rural people.

Residents Welcome Digital Transformation

Many residents of Patiala embraced the initiative, referring to it as a game-changer for patients, specifically for seniors and those living in rural areas. Health officials think it will help hospitals run smoothly, increase transparency and build trust in the doctor-patient relationship.

With Punjab’s first e-Hospital now in operation, the state is making an important leap in applying technology to healthcare and ensuring that services are not just available, but actually accessible to everyone.
