The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday gave a bonanza of Rs 869 crore to Sangrur residents by kicking off and laying the foundation stone of several developmental projects in the district.
Addressing the gathering during Vikas Kranti rally here today, the Chief Minister said that he always wanted that this region should have an ultra modern hospital so that people can get quality health services. He said that today his dream has come true with the setting up of 80 bedded mother child hospital at Dhuri, 30 bedded Community Health centre at Kauhrian and 30 bedded Rural hospital at Cheema adding that equipped with ultra modren facilities these hospitals will go a long way in imparting quality health services to the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government is already providing free medicine to the patients from within the hospital premises so that patients don’t have to go out adding that X-ray and Ultrasound machines are being provided in every hospital to serve the people.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab is food bowl and sword arm of the country adding that more than 90% sacrifices were made by Punjabis in the national freedom struggle adding that the state government has introduced various out of the box ideas to benefit the common man.Asserting that 829 Aam Aadmi clinics have revolutionized the health care sector in the state, he said that more than 95% of patients visiting these clinics daily recover from their ailments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that ever since the starting of these clinics from August 15, 2022 they have witnessed a footfall of more than one crore patients.
The Chief Minister said that these clinics are acting as a cornerstone in the revamp of the healthcare system in Punjab. He said that 80 types of medicines and around 40 diagnostic tests are being provided free of charge to the patients in these clinics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these clinics have also helped the government in preparing a database for checking the various diseases prevalent in the state and combating them effectively.
The Chief Minister further said that to check the fatality rate due to road accidents in the state on one hand and to streamline the movement of traffic on the roads of the state on the other, the state government has launched Sadak Surakhya Force. He said that the first of its kind specialized force is acting as a pivotal to save several precious lives that are lost in road accidents daily in Punjab and this force has been entrusted with the task of checking rash driving, streamlining vehicular movement on roads and others to check the road accidents. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that initially 129 vehicles equipped with ultra modern gadgets have been deployed after every 30 kilometres to man the roads and these vehicles will also have a complete medical kit for providing emergency treatment to any person in need.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is making concerted efforts for rejuvenating the education system in the state. He said that till now sending his child to government school was the only option for the common man but within six months it will be his wish to do so as the education system is being revamped. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Schools of Eminence has set up across the state to impart quality education to the students.
The Chief Minister said that the state government had scripted a new success story by purchasing Goindwal power plant earlier owned by a private company GVK Power Power at a cost of Rs 1080 crore. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that as coal from Pachwara coal mine, allotted to Punjab, can be used only for government power plants so with purchase of this power plant this coal can be aptly utilized for producing power to provide it to every sector of the state. He further said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that 90% consumers in the state are getting zero power bill due to pro-people decisions of the state government.
Training his guns at the opposition, the Chief Minister said that the exchequer of the state was never empty but the political leaders lacked the intention to ensure the well being of the common man due to which they didn’t make any effort for welfare of people. He said that these people had looted crores of Rupees from the state for personal benefits adding that the luxury tax and others of their resorts and farmhouses was waived off to benefit them. However, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that in the coming days people will get very good news as the huge palaces and farm houses made by the leaders illegally will be razed very soon.
The Chief Minister said that these people had constructed these palatial homes on the blood of common man which will not be tolerated and to sooth the mind of every Punjabi these will be demolished soon. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders will be taught a befitting lesson for their sins and no stone will be left unturned for it. He said that his government is judiciously spending every single penny of the people for the welfare of the common man.
The Chief Minister said that with the coming elections the political leaders have started offering sop to the masses adding that reduction in price of LPG by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a reflection of it. He said that for years they had mercilessly enhanced the price of essential goods but now they are trying to befool the common man by reducing the price meagerly. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon the people not to get swayed away by these theatrics as such leaders have dubious character and they just try to fool the common man by such actions.
Taking a jibe over former Union Minister Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s return to Akali Dal, the Chief Minister said that he was a ‘political deadwood’ who had never been able to win this seat due to complete disconnect with masses. He said that though the Dhindsa family had claimed it as their ‘ghar waapsi’ in Akali Dal, they can never return to the houses of the common man who knows that they are good for nothing. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that at the time when these people have to retire these political opportunists are switching their loyalties just for sake of power adding that neither they are worried for panth nor for state but their sole interest is to grab power.
The Chief Minister said that contrary to the last two years the development has not taken place in the last 75 years in the state as these leaders lacked the intention and will to serve the people. He said that these people had mercilessly plundered the money of Punjabis just for their families without bothering about the common man. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that but now for the first time policies are being framed for the welfare of the state and prosperity of its people adding that this is a history in itself.
The Chief Minister slammed the Union government for stalling the funds under RDF and NHM thereby jeopardizing the development of the state. He said that funds worth more than Rs 8000 crore have been unfairly blocked by the Union government, which is grave injustice with the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Union government must be taught a befitting lesson by routing them out in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
The Chief Minister quipped that the leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh, Sunil Jakhar,Manpreet Badal and others are maintaining a stoic silence over the issues related to Punjab just to enjoy fruits of power. He said that on one hand the BJP government is meting out step motherly treatment to the state and on the other these leaders are singing paeans of the saffron party just for their vested interests. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these need to be taught a befitting lesson by sending them to political oblivion.
The Chief Minister said that every single penny from the state exchequer is being spent on the well being of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann called upon people to ensure victory of the party on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats so that he can effectively combat the discriminatory policies of the Union government. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the hands of AAP needs to strengthen by giving 13-0 to the parties adding that these 13 MPs, when elected, will give fillip to the development and progress of the state.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab doesn’t need any NOC of patriotism from anyone especially those in power at centre today. He said that they had rejected the tableaus of the state during the Republic Day parade irrespective of the fact 90% sacrifices for freedom struggle were made by Punjabis. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this step motherly treatment against the state is intolerable as they don’t have any right to reject the tableaus of the state showcasing patriotism and nationalism in the state.
