Cold Wave Grips Punjab: Orange Alert Issued in 15 Districts, Dense Fog Warning for Next 2 Days

Amidst the intense cold wave in Punjab, the meteorological department has issued an orange alert in 15 districts, including Sangrur, Patiala, Ludhiana, Mohali, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Rupnagar, Moga, Firozpur, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot. Yellow alerts have been issued for other districts. Additionally, a dense fog warning has been issued for the next two days.

The chilling temperatures have disrupted normal life, causing inconvenience to the public. The bone-chilling cold is impacting daily routines, especially for those engaged in outdoor activities. The severe cold conditions have led people to seek refuge near fireplaces, and the highways and outskirts of the city witness individuals trying to cope with the freezing temperatures.


Rain Expected on January 9 Amidst Harsh Winter Conditions

The state is bracing for further challenges as rain is predicted on January 9. The authorities advise residents in the alerted districts to exercise caution and take necessary precautions in the face of the ongoing cold spell.
