“Every Penny Accounted For! With ‘Mission Chardi Kala,’ Mann Government Sets New Benchmark of Transparency as 1,000+ Donors Join Within 24 Hours”

CM Bhagwant Mann launches Mission Chardi Kala to rebuild flood-hit Punjab with public, NRI and CSR support through Rangla Punjab Vikas Fund.

Punjab, which has always fed the entire nation, is currently facing severe floods. In this difficult time, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab government has launched ‘Mission Chardi Kala.’ This campaign is not just limited to providing relief; it is a mission to rapidly advance the rehabilitation, reconstruction, and development of flood-affected areas. Its main objective is to unite the people of the state and the Punjabi diaspora (NRIs) so they can contribute to making Punjab strong, safe, and prosperous again.

All contributions received under this mission will be deposited into the ‘Rangla Punjab Vikas Fund.’ The Punjab government established the Rangla Punjab Society to deal with any emergency or crisis. This fund will be based entirely on voluntary contributions and will not receive any government budget support. To ensure transparency, a monitoring committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, which includes key members from the finance and planning departments. Details of contributions will be shared on the society’s website from time to time. Additionally, NRI contributions will be exempt from FCRA, and corporate donations will be considered CSR expenses to encourage maximum participation. The Punjab government has promised that every contribution to this fund will be fully accounted for, and no money will be wasted.

This initiative has received tremendous support from the very beginning. In the first 24 hours of the mission’s launch, more than 1000 people contributed, including many NRIs. Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney made a significant contribution of ₹1 crore. Also, 50 tractors and 10 JCB machines were made available for relief and reconstruction work. This shows that the public has complete faith in the government.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann thanked the first 1000 donors who contributed to this initiative and appealed to all Punjabis and the NRI community to participate enthusiastically in this noble cause. He said, “Your contribution to ‘Mission Chardi Kala’ will play a crucial role in the reconstruction of Punjab, which has been hit hard by the floods.” Through this society, the government has also sent a message of collective effort and transparency in a time of crisis.

‘Mission Chardi Kala’ is not just a relief campaign; it has become a symbol of Punjab’s hard work, courage, and unity. It shows that even in times of crisis, the Mann government stands with the people and is determined to make Punjab strong again every step of the way.
