Ex-Servicemen Will Be Eligible To Apply For Group A And B Jobs In Punjab

The Bhangwat Mann government gives priority to those ex-servicemen who have served the country for a long time, they are an invaluable asset of our country. Under which, in order to provide respectable jobs to these ex-servicemen, Directorate of Defense Services Welfare Punjab and Punjabi University Patiala signed a historic MoU on 27 March 2023 in which graduation degree will be given to ex-servicemen.

During the formal function at Punjab Bhawan, which was attended by Chetan Singh Jaudamajra, Cabinet Minister, Department of Defense Services Welfare, as the Chief Guest. On this occasion, Chancellor of Punjabi University Patiala Dr. Arvind, J.M. Balmorgan, IAS, Principal Secretary Defense Services Welfare Department, Government of Punjab, Brig Bhupinder Singh Dhillon (Retd), Director Defense Services Welfare Punjab and other officers were also present.

Ex-Servicemen will be eligible to apply for Group A and B posts

In this regard, Cabinet Minister, Department of Defense Services Welfare, Chetan Singh Joudamajra informed that with the continuous efforts of the Bhagwant Mann led government, with this MoU, deserving ex-servicemen will be awarded graduation degree in Arts (Defence and Strategic Studies) from Punjabi University Patiala. Ex-Servicemen will be eligible to apply for Group A and B posts of Govt. Earlier also special education certificate was given by the Army, Navy and Air Force at the time of retirement, making them eligible to apply only for Group C and D posts.

After this, Cabinet Minister Chetan Singh Jaudamajra also distributed checks of financial assistance to disabled ex-servicemen and their dependents at the District Defense Services Welfare Office, SAS Nagar.

He said that the amount given to the families of the martyrs has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1.00 crore and also the process of providing employment to 12 families of the martyrs has been completed and appointment letters will be given to them soon.
