Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said Punjab has, for the first time, got a government focused on delivering for its people, asserting that four-and-a-half years of work have earned his government the trust of the people. Highlighting daytime electricity and canal water for farmers, monthly savings of ₹15,000 for every family through government schemes, and prompt payments for paddy procurement, he said his government’s record speaks for itself. Hitting back at the BJP and other opponents, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said attempts to tarnish his image had failed to undermine his honesty, pointing out that the CBI returned empty-handed after a raid at his office. He reiterated that his doors would always remain open to the people of Punjab.
Taking to X, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated: “Today, I shared my thoughts and heartfelt conversations with my own people at the village gathering in the revolutionary village of Mimsa in Dhuri constituency. It is because of your immense love and support that Dhuri has today become the ‘axis’ of Punjab’s politics. Unlike the empty promises of previous governments, we have delivered tangible work on the ground. With daytime electricity for farmers, 88% coverage of agricultural land through canal irrigation, 70,685 government jobs, free healthcare and zero electricity bills, every family is benefiting by ₹1.82 lakh annually. The monthly financial assistance being provided to mothers and sisters through the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna is a recognition of the respect and dignity they rightfully deserve. With your blessings, we will continue to discharge this responsibility of public service, entrusted to us by the Waheguru, with complete honesty and dedication. Inquilab Zindabad.”
Addressing the Lok Milni, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The people of Punjab have witnessed the difference between governments that made promises and a government that is delivering results. We have earned their trust through our work over the past four-and-a-half years. Every penny of the state exchequer belongs to the people, and we are ensuring that their money returns to them through development, better public services and welfare initiatives.”
The Chief Minister said, “Every penny of the state exchequer belongs to the people, and we are judiciously spending their money on their welfare. The people’s money is returning to them through development, schools, hospitals and roads. More than 90% of households are getting free electricity, and farmers are receiving daytime power, something unprecedented in Punjab’s history.”
He said, “Our government is working for the people. We have provided jobs to more than 70,000 young people without corruption, improved roads, strengthened schools and hospitals, and closed toll plazas to save commuters ₹70 lakh daily that were costing commuters unnecessarily. We are also developing villages and building sports stadiums so that our youth can focus on sports and build a better future.”
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “Healthcare should be accessible to every family. Through the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, we are providing cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family. This initiative is aimed at ensuring that people can receive quality medical treatment without worrying about how they will pay their hospital bills.”
On the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, he said eligible women aged 18 years and above would receive monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 for every woman and ₹1,500 for Scheduled Caste women from July 1. “The amount would be transferred directly into their bank accounts, and women already receiving social security pensions would also be eligible. He said 97% of women in Punjab were expected to benefit from the scheme, for which ₹9,300 crore had been allocated in the budget,” he added.
“Our government is committed to ensuring that women receive the respect, dignity and financial support they deserve. Under the Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, eligible women will receive assistance directly in their bank accounts. With 97% of women expected to benefit, this scheme will provide meaningful support to families across Punjab,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
The Chief Minister said education is essential to breaking the cycle of poverty and improving living standards. He said the government was investing in teacher training, Schools of Eminence and other initiatives to improve the quality of education and empower children from ordinary families. “Free schemes and concession cards can provide relief, but education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Quality education empowers people, raises their standard of living and opens up opportunities for future generations. That is why we are working tirelessly to strengthen government schools and provide children with better opportunities,” he said.
He said, “The increase in government school students qualifying for NEET, from 80 in 2021 to 882 in 2026, reflects the efforts being made to improve education. We are determined to ensure that children studying in government schools can compete with students from anywhere in the country.”

The Chief Minister said, “For the first time in Punjab’s history, canal water has reached the fields of 1,587 villages that had never received it before. We have spent ₹7,200 crore to expand irrigation facilities, and the area receiving canal water has increased from 20.89 lakh acres in 2022 to 60.30 lakh acres today. Reliable irrigation is essential for reducing the burden on farmers and strengthening Punjab’s agricultural economy.”
He said the government had made public service its primary mission and remained committed to Punjab’s progress, unlike previous governments that, in his view, had prioritised their own interests. He added that reliable irrigation and reducing farmers’ financial burden remained central to the government’s agricultural policy. “Punjab has seen governments that were busy serving their own interests. We have made public service our sole mission. Our commitment is to the progress of Punjab, and we will continue working to improve the lives of farmers and every other section of society,” he said.
The Chief Minister pointed out, “Government schemes are helping every family save around ₹15,000 every month. This is real relief for household budgets and puts more money in the hands of ordinary people. We have also ensured that farmers receive payment for their paddy directly in their bank accounts before they reach home from the mandi.” He said timely payments were essential to protect farmers from financial uncertainty and ensure that they received the rightful value of their hard work.
Taking on political opponents, he said those unable to challenge his government on performance are resorting to personal attacks and attempts to malign his reputation. “When they cannot find fault with my work or challenge my integrity, they try to defame me. My honesty has become a problem for those accustomed to politics driven by vested interests. But the people of Punjab know the truth, and no amount of political propaganda can erase the work we have done for them,” said CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.
Referring to the CBI raid at his office,CM Bhagwant Singh Mann stated, “The BJP thought that raids and pressure would intimidate me, but the CBI returned empty-handed after the raid at my office. I will never compromise on the interests of Punjab and its people. My strength comes from the trust of the people, and I will continue to serve them with honesty and determination.”
The Chief Minister said elected representatives must remain accessible to people instead of confining themselves to offices and formal meetings. He reaffirmed that the doors of his residence had always been open to the people of Punjab and would remain open in the future. “The people of Punjab are not outsiders to me; they are my own family. My doors have always been open to them and will always remain open. The real purpose of holding public office is to listen to people’s grievances, understand their problems and work towards finding solutions,” he said.
CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reiterated that his government would continue working with dedication, transparency and accountability to fulfil the aspirations of Punjabis. He said the progress achieved so far was a step towards building a prosperous, self-reliant and developed Punjab, where every section of society could live with dignity and confidence. “The people of Punjab will ultimately judge every political party by its record of public service. We will continue to focus on tangible results, transparency and accountability rather than hollow rhetoric. Our commitment is to build a prosperous Punjab where every person can live with dignity and confidence,” he said.
