Grants worth crores have been issued for flood-affected government schools, the information of which has been shared by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. He said that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister Manji, a grant of Rs 27.77 crore has been issued to the government schools of Punjab which are facing the brunt of rain and flood water, which will be released from Rs 5 thousand to Rs 30 thousand per school with immediate effect.
At the same time, Rs 20 crore has been released for primary schools and Rs 7.77 crore for secondary schools of the state.
The school head and management committees will get the school repaired, cleaned, painted and other minor works done with the amount of the grant given by the government.
