Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today extended heartfelt greetings on the auspicious occasion of Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru and a symbol of peace, sacrifice, and spiritual wisdom.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Mann wrote in Punjabi:
(Translation: A thousand congratulations to all on the Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the embodiment of peace. The fifth Guru gave humanity the great gift of the Guru Granth Sahib. Let us all walk on the path shown by Guru Sahib and live our lives according to Gurbani.)
A Spiritual Legacy That Transcends Time
Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, revered as the Pancham Patshah, compiled the Adi Granth—the foundation of the Guru Granth Sahib—and laid the cornerstone for a spiritual movement rooted in love, equality, and compassion. His life stands as a monument of selfless service and supreme sacrifice, having embraced martyrdom with grace for upholding truth and justice.
The Parkash Purab is not only a celebration of his birth but a reminder of his timeless teachings. Gurdwaras across Punjab and other parts of the world observed the day with Kirtan, Langar, and Akhand Path, echoing the spirit of community and humility.
Leaders Urge Citizens to Reflect and Follow Gurbani
CM Bhagwant Mann’s message is part of a wider call from Sikh leaders and scholars urging people to incorporate the values of Gurbani—peace, truth, and equality—into their daily lives.
With rising global unrest and social divisions, Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s vision feels more relevant than ever. In Mann’s words, the Guru’s message is a pathway to harmony and human dignity, not just for Sikhs, but for the world at large.
