Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has praised the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government for making what he described as efficient and well-organised arrangements for a religious pilgrimage, saying the measures have won appreciation from devotees.

In a statement, Cheema said the government’s arrangements for the journey had impressed the sangat (devotees). He emphasised that wherever there is faith and devotion, providing adequate facilities and ensuring respect for pilgrims is a responsibility of the government.
“Where there is faith, providing convenience and respect is the duty of the government,” Cheema said, highlighting the Mann government’s efforts to facilitate devotees during the pilgrimage.
Cheema said the Punjab government was fulfilling this responsibility effectively by ensuring organised arrangements and necessary facilities for those undertaking the religious journey.
The minister’s remarks come as the state government continues to focus on improving arrangements for pilgrims and facilitating religious travel across Punjab.
