History Written in the Sky: The Story of Guru Tegh Bahadur’s Great Sacrifice Echoes over Anandpur Sahib on His 350th Martyrdom Day

Punjab created history in Anandpur Sahib with the world’s first religious drone show, honoring Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th martyrdom anniversary through light, art and devotion.

History was created in Anandpur Sahib when the Punjab Government organized the world’s first religious drone show to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. More than fifty thousand devotees and guests gathered to witness this unique tribute, remembering the Ninth Sikh Guru’s supreme sacrifice in an extraordinary way.

Over three thousand drones lit up the night sky, creating shining images that told the story of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s life and his sacrifice for the freedom of faith. As the darkness fell, the drones rose together to form the holy Khanda Saab symbol, glowing like gold in the night sky. The crowd watched in awe and reverence.

The Chief Minister of Punjab inaugurated the show, saying it reflected the government’s commitment to honoring Sikh heritage through modern technology. “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji gave his life to protect everyone’s right to religious freedom. Today, we are spreading his message of tolerance and courage across the world using technology,” he said.

The 15-minute show took the audience on an emotional journey through history. The drones formed scenes of Guru Ji meditating, his imprisonment at the Red Fort, and the breaking of chains as a symbol of liberation. Each visual was accompanied by sacred hymns and explanations, making the experience both educational and deeply spiritual for the youth.

Technical experts shared that the show took months of planning and coordination. The team worked closely with Sikh scholars and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to ensure every image and symbol was culturally respectful and spiritually accurate. Great care was taken to present religious symbols with honor and precision.

As the event ended, videos and pictures of the show flooded social media. The related hashtags trended nationwide, with people from all communities appreciating the Punjab Government’s creative initiative. International media also covered the event, calling it a remarkable blend of technology and spirituality.

Religious leaders praised the show as a powerful way to connect the younger generation with Sikh history and values. Sikh scholar Baba Harjinder Singh said, “The Guru’s message is timeless, and this show proves that devotion speaks every generation’s language. Traditional methods are important, but such modern presentations help youth connect meaningfully with their heritage.”

The Punjab Government announced plans to document the drone show and make it available to educational institutions worldwide. Officials said this historic event sets an example of how states can celebrate religious and cultural heritage respectfully while using technology in modern ways. The success of this first religious drone show at Anandpur Sahib has sparked discussions across the country.
