Invest in the Best – CM Rolls Out Red Carpet for the Captains of Industry

Mann highlights Punjab’s investor-friendly policies, ₹1.23 lakh crore investments, and calls industry leaders to Progressive Punjab Summit 2026.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday invited the industrialists to become active partners in the socio-economic growth of the county by investing in the best as due to its industrial friendly policies and congenial business atmosphere, Punjab has now emerged as the best investment destination across the globe.

Interacting with the industrialists here today, the Chief Minister said that the industrialists are the backbone of the economy as they give bread and butter to a number of families. He said that several key industrialists have invested in the state and have expanded their business as the fertile land of the state inspires them to excel. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that despite being merely 1.5% of India’s total lands Punjab, today contributes 3% in the total GDP of the country.

The Chief Minister said that the hard working and resilient people of this sacred land have carved a niche for themselves across the globe. He said that Punjab is a blessed land having footprints of great Gurus, saints and seers adding that anything can germinate on the fertile land of the state. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that though the black days had given a big jolt to the industry of the state but then it also has revived and flourished.

The Chief Minister said that Punjab is the idle place for shooting of the videos and films adding that it has remained at the forefront in every field. He said that the state government is planning a Film city in Punjab as it has a huge potential for the film industry. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this region is blessed with a lot of natural and scenic beauty due to which it is an idle destination for the production of movies.

The Chief Minister said that the country in general and Punjab in particular lacks entertainment infrastructure due to which the industry is suffering adding that the state government is laying major thrust on it. He said that another cricket stadium is coming up at the holy city of Amritsar which will give major thrust to the sports industry. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government is working overtime to give a boost to the industrial sector in the state adding that the state is having surplus power, which is the engine of industrial growth.

The Chief Minister said that there are five power plants in Punjab out of which five belong to the state government adding that the state has huge reserves of coal to produce power. He said that as Punjab is the food bowl of the country so the state has a huge scope for food producing industry adding that the state has implemented the single window in right earnest. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state is swiftly emerging as the most preferred investment destination across the globe adding that Punjab has always been a land of resilience, enterprise, and rich heritage.

The Chief Minister said that in the last three years there has been a paradigm shift in Punjab’s industrial journey which has taken a dynamic turn. Today, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state is an industrial powerhouse, leading in sectors such as food processing, textiles, auto components, hand tools, bicycles, IT, tourism, and others. He said that industrial growth of Punjab is truly global as Investors from across the world have recognized the state’s potential.

The Chief Minister said that since March 2022, Punjab has received investment proposals worth Rs 1.23 lakh crores, with the potential to create over 4.7 lakh jobs, positioning Punjab as an emerging hub for industrial growth and innovation. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that Punjab is home to several prestigious global companies, including Nestlé, Class, Freudenberg, Cargill, Verbio, Danone and others which have established operations here, contributing to the State’s economic transformation. He said that these international companies recognize Punjab’s potential and the conducive environment that the state provides for businesses to thrive.

The Chief Minister said that the state’s global reach is evident through investments from countries such as Japan, the USA, Germany, the UK, UAE, Switzerland, France, Spain, and others. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he believes that this is just the beginning as Punjab has truly become a preferred investment destination not only for Indian investors but for those worldwide. He said that after assuming the charge of office he has created an investor-friendly ecosystem that promotes ease of doing business.

The Chief Minister said that due to industrial friendly policies of the state government Punjab today ranks as a Top Achiever in Ease of Doing Business and has launched the FastTrack Punjab Portal, India’s most advanced single-window system. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government ensures zero offline applications and fast-track approvals adding that through the Punjab Right to Business Act, the state offers in-principle approval in just five days for eligible units up to Rs 125 Crore. He further said that Punjab is the first state to introduce some major regulatory reforms which includes time-bound clearances within 45 days, deemed approvals, escalation mechanisms, and extended validity for key licenses.

The Chief Minister reiterated that partnership between government and industry is the key to success and the state government firmly believes that industrial growth can only be achieved when we work as equal partners. He said that this principle guides our New Industrial Policy introduced in 2022, which was shaped in consultation with industry leaders and stakeholders, ensuring that it caters to their needs and aspirations. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that now the state government has created 24 sectoral committees chaired by the captains of industry to formulate sector specific policies.

The Chief Minister assured the industrialists that the state government is fully committed to forge partnership of equality, transparency and mutual support with industries and businesses. He said that the entire state government present here is committed to facilitate the business journey of the entrepreneurs. To make this partnership deeper, Bhagwant Singh Mann invited the industrialists to the sixth Edition of the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit.

The Chief Minister said that this summit will be held on March 13, 14 and 15, 2026 at Mohali, Punjab and will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to share ideas and collaborate on Punjab’s future industrial landscape. He said that the expertise and insights of the industrial captains are critical to shape Punjab’s future adding that the summit will be an ideal platform for showcasing and understanding Punjab’s potential, exploring collaboration opportunities, and networking. I believe, together, we can build a sustainable, inclusive, and globally competitive industrial ecosystem in Punjab for which your participation, trust, and commitment is solicited, added Bhagwant Singh Mann.
