Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann extended heartfelt wishes to devotees across the globe on the occasion of Khalsa Sajna Diwas and Baisakhi, commemorating the formation of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699.

Taking to social media, Mann paid homage to the tenth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, for establishing the Khalsa Panth on the sacred land of Anandpur Sahib. In his message, he highlighted how Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave Sikhs a distinct identity, free from caste discrimination and prejudice based on colour or creed.

“By forming the Khalsa on the holy soil of Sri Anandpur Sahib, the Tenth Guru gave us a unique identity, beyond caste and colour,” Mann tweeted in Punjabi.
The Chief Minister also extended warm greetings to all devotees bowing at the feet of the Guru on this sacred day. He expressed deep reverence for the ideals of equality, courage, and righteousness that the Khalsa represents.
Khalsa Sajna Diwas coincides with Baisakhi, which also marks the harvest festival in Punjab and the Sikh New Year. Across the state and in Sikh communities worldwide, the day is celebrated with great fervour through prayers, processions, langars (community feasts), and spiritual gatherings.
Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s formation of the Khalsa Panth on April 13, 1699, is seen as a transformative moment in Sikh history, reinforcing the principles of discipline, justice, and collective identity.
