The last rites of Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri will be performed in Amritsar on Sunday amid heavy security arrangements. Police and administration are on alert mode regarding this, so keeping in mind the security, police force has been deployed from Sudhir Suri’s house to Durgiana temple. All the top officials of the administration and police are present on the spot.
The party workers and family at first refused for Sudhir Suri’s last visit. After this, the top officials of the police and administration celebrated these people. The protesting supporters were imprisoned by the police in Sudhir Suri’s house itself.
Shiv Sena leader Sudhir Suri was shot dead on Friday, 4 November. Suri was sitting on a dharna outside the Gopal temple at around 3:30 pm to protest against the idols of Gods being found in the garbage. Then taking advantage of the crowd, he was shot. The attacker Sandeep Singh was arrested by the police shortly after the incident.
After searching the car of the accused, a poster of Khalistanis was found in it. Apart from this, Sandeep’s recent posts on Instagram and Facebook show that he is a fanatic. Sandeep Singh posted several videos of Amritpal Singh from his account and including a video of him meeting the pro-Khalistan leader. Sandeep is a resident of Amritsar.
Sudhir Suri was on the hit list of Khalistanis
Sudhir Suri used to be in discussion about his inflammatory speeches. Punjab Police had registered a case against him this time. He also had to go to jail. He was on the hit list of Khalistanis since 2016.
8 policemen were deployed in security
Intelligence had already received inputs about the attack on the Shiv Sena leader. Apart from this, the police had recently given him security after receiving threats from many gangsters of Punjab. Eight policemen from Punjab were deployed at the time of the attack, out of which 2 SHOs and one ACP were present on the spot. Even after this, the attacker shot him in front of the police. In such a situation, questions are also being raised on the police regarding their safety.
