Lok Sabha Election 2024: AAP to Announce Candidates for Remaining Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab

With polling scheduled for June 1 for a total of 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, AAP aims to finalize its roster of contenders soon.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, representing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has revealed plans to unveil the names of candidates for the remaining five Lok Sabha seats in the state within the next five days. With polling scheduled for June 1 for a total of 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, AAP aims to finalize its roster of contenders soon.

AAP to Announce Candidates for Remaining Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab

In a social media post, Mann affirmed, “In the next five days, the candidates for the remaining five Lok Sabha seats will be announced by the AAP.” Notably, AAP has already disclosed candidates for eight constituencies, positioning itself as the first party in Punjab to do so.

The pending candidates are yet to be named for Ferozepur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, and Anandpur Sahib constituencies

AAP’s initial list included prominent figures such as five cabinet ministers: Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal (Amritsar), Laljit Singh Bhullar (Khadoor Sahib), Gurmeet Singh Khudian (Bathinda), Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer (Sangrur), and Dr. Balbir Singh (Patiala). Additionally, incumbent Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku has been re-nominated by the party for the same constituency.

Other candidates announced by AAP include Gurpreet Singh GP for Fatehgarh Sahib and actor-singer Karamjeet Anmol for the Faridkot seat. The AAP, an integral part of the opposition INDIA bloc, has opted to contest the parliamentary elections independently in Punjab, showcasing its confidence in its organizational strength and candidate selection process.
