Lovely Professional University: Huge Protests Erupt In LPU After A Student Commits Suicide

Punjab: There is a huge demonstration going on at LPU Jalandhar University in Phagwara, Kapurthala, Punjab, According to the students, there have been two suicides on campus in the past 10 days, the administration has remained silent on the allegations. They claimed that the reason they are protesting is that they want to discover why people are committing suicide. He claimed that because the second suicide case was handled behind closed doors, nothing was revealed. The cops have now arrived and are attempting to calm things down.

The deceased was a design student from Kerela

On Tuesday night, Agni S. Dileep, the deceased, was a first-year undergraduate design student from Kerala, age 21, is said to have hanged himself in his dormitory room. From his chamber, no suicide note has been found.

Two Private Universities in Punjab witnessed massive protetsts in a span of a week

Significantly, there has been a commotion at the second private institution in Punjab within the past week. An extensive demonstration against the MMS leak case earlier took place at Chandigarh University in Mohali. A recent release of a student’s video from a Chandigarh University dormitory. Following this occurrence, there was a sizable demonstration that lasted for two days on campus. The student protest has subsided as of right now, but the university has been told to close till Saturday.

A large number of pupils from adjacent cities have returned to their individual homes. The students claimed that a resident of their hostel recorded 60 of them in private movies and transmitted them to her lover who lives in Shimla. Additionally, they claim that some of those videos have been posted on websites and social media. However, the Mohali police refuted this. The girl was merely accused of recording her video and sending it to her lover, according to the police. According to police, no other videos of other girls have been uncovered during the investigation. The police said that the rumours’ dissemination frightened the students and sparked demonstrations at the campus.
