LPU Protest: Kerela Professor named behind the suicide of the student at the University in Punjab

LPU Protest: A student’s death by suicide in Punjab caused massive protests on the campus as students demanded the investigation of the death. Now, a professor from Kerela has named in the case for ‘abetment of suicide’. Agni S Dileep was 21 year old from Kerela and he was pursuing a degree in design at the Lovely Professional University or LPU.

Before joining the LPU, he was a student at National Technical University, Calicut but he was rusticated from the college. The student’s father also confirms that It’s his son’s handwriting on the suicide notes that is recovered by the police.

Police said “Boy was dealing with personal issues”

The police had earlier said that he was dealing with personal issues, referring to his suicide notes. This is the second death in Lovely Professional University in 10 days. “A first year student of B. Design has died by suicide on Tuesday. DSP Phagwara stated that the student was facng some personal issues. It has been suggested by the note left by him” Police tweeted.

The University also gave a statement with the same reason. It said that a “misunderstanding” between some students had led to the protests. The protesting students was alleged that the previous suicide was covered up by the authorities, they demanded to know the reason behind both cases. They claimed the previous incident was “resolved behind the closed doors.”
