Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann marked International Yoga Day 2025 with a heartfelt appeal to the public, urging everyone to adopt yoga as a daily practice for both physical and mental well-being.
In a message shared on social media, Mann said:
“ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਯੋਗਾ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਆਓ ਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਸਰੀਰਕ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਨਸਿਕ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤੀ ਲਈ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਾਈਏ।”
(“On the occasion of International Yoga Day, let us make yoga a part of our daily life for physical and mental wellness.”)
A Call for Holistic Health
The Chief Minister emphasized that yoga is not just an ancient Indian discipline but also a powerful tool for holistic health in today’s fast-paced world. As mental stress and lifestyle-related diseases continue to rise globally, leaders across India are encouraging people to incorporate wellness practices like yoga into their routines.
International Yoga Day: A Global Movement
Celebrated every year on June 21, International Yoga Day is observed worldwide to promote the benefits of yoga and recognize India’s contribution to global wellness. This year’s theme continues to align with the message of unity and health, in line with the broader call for "One Earth, One Health."
Bhagwant Mann’s message echoes the collective vision of creating a healthier, more mindful society—starting with simple daily practices.
CM Mann’s message also ties into his government’s broader vision for a healthier and more active Punjab. From encouraging community fitness programs to promoting Ayush-based interventions, the state has been investing in public health initiatives that focus on wellness over illness.
He urged residents, especially the youth, to look beyond gadgets and screens and dedicate at least 30 minutes daily to yoga or any form of physical activity. “A fit Punjab is a prosperous Punjab,” he said.
