The sacred land of Anandpur Sahib is filled with devotion and service these days. Every minister, MLA, and worker of the Aam Aadmi Party is humbly serving as true volunteers in the grand celebrations organized by the Punjab Government from November 23 to 25 to commemorate the 350th martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. This is not merely a political event, but a living demonstration of true homage to Guru Sahib.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the guidance of Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, all ministers and MLAs of the government are participating as humble volunteers in four grand Nagar Kirtans, starting from November 19. This scene is unique in itself – when public representatives, abandoning their egos, are striving to live the teachings of Guru Sahib without any pretense.

Chief Ministers Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, along with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, participated in the Nagar Kirtan that began at Gurdwara Chhevi Patshahi in Srinagar. All the Punjab Cabinet ministers were also present. The Nagar Kirtan will pass through Jammu, Pathankot, and Hoshiarpur and reach Anandpur Sahib on November 22nd. At every stop, the humility of volunteers, not government representatives, is evident.

The Punjab Police has also deployed its full strength for this sacred occasion. Nearly 10,000 police personnel have been deployed under the leadership of Special DGP Arpit Shukla. Police officers are not only providing security but also serving the devotees. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav personally visited Anandpur Sahib and directed all officers to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, commitment, empathy, and devotion.

For this event, the police have implemented a comprehensive security system, including AI-enabled cameras, drone surveillance, facial recognition systems, and round-the-clock coordination. Despite their uniforms, police personnel are acting as sevadars – helping devotees, guiding them, and ensuring their convenience. This is not arrangement, this is devotion.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains launched a special digital portal, “AnandpurSahib350.com,” and a mobile app dedicated to serving devotees, along with 65 mini-buses, 500 e-rickshaws, 19 common man clinics, and free medicines. “In the spirit of ‘Sarbat da Bhala’, the local administration is committed to serving every devotee. This platform symbolizes that commitment,” the minister said.

Beginning with the Akhand Path Sahib on November 23rd, the three-day event will include an interfaith conference, a heritage walk, a special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly, cultural programs, and a spectacular drone show. A special session of the Legislative Assembly will be held on November 24th—the first time in Sikh history that a session of the Legislative Assembly is being held in honor of Guru Sahib.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has released ₹71 crore for the development of 142 villages and towns associated with Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. This is not just money, but a demonstration of true devotion to Guru Sahib. Every party member, whether minister or MLA, is working on this entire event as their personal responsibility—without any desire for political gain.
