CM Bhagwant Mann Leads Rescue in Punjab

The floods that have struck Punjab have been devastating, with more than 1,300 villages and millions of people being left homeless. Though the water levels are gradually going down, the state continues to face significant challenges. CM Bhagwant Mann is personally leading the relief mission, and ministers, MLAs, and party workers are taking an active part in helping the afflicted communities. Schools are cleaning up, and victims are being provided with the necessary supplies, food, and medical assistance.

Ministers and MLAs Take Charge on the Ground

Punjab government ministers and MLAs are fully involved in on-ground relief work. AAP Punjab shared on their official X (formerly Twitter) handle that:

“Dinananagar MLA Samshar Singh visited flood-hit villages, assessed damaged homes, listened to people’s concerns, and assured affected families of every possible assistance from the government.”

Similarly, Ajnala MLA Kuldeep Singh (AAP), along with local villagers, cleaned schools in his constituency to ensure children can study in a safe and hygienic environment.

Health Warnings and Safety Measures

Punjab is not an exception to the severe health risks associated with flooding. In the impacted areas, many people are getting sick. This had been foreseen by CM Bhagwant Mann, who gave officials explicit instructions. In areas affected by flooding, medical teams have been dispatched to address any outbreak promptly. To stop the spread of illnesses, residents have been urged to be alert and to report symptoms like fever, cough, or skin rashes as soon as they appear.

Relief Measures by the Government

The state government is providing food, other forms of support, and other necessary relief supplies to the displaced population in addition to health measures. The goal of ongoing observation and proactive assistance is to progressively return impacted families to their everyday lives.
