The Punjab Police, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, has stepped up its mission to make the state safe, secure, and drug-free. With a focus on dismantling organised crime and curbing cross-border smuggling, the police force has achieved major breakthroughs that reflect its firm action on the ground.

As per data shared by DGP Punjab Police, a total of 20,414 FIRs have been registered and 31,177 arrests made against criminals, drug peddlers, and anti-social elements. A remarkable 1,342 kg of heroin has been seized so far, accounting for 60% of India’s overall recovery, underlining Punjab’s role in the national fight against narcotics. The state also leads with an 87% conviction rate, the highest in India.

In addition to drug seizures, Punjab Police has dealt a serious blow to terror outfits. 26 terror modules were busted, while 88 terrorists were apprehended, preventing potential threats to peace and stability. The police also demonstrated their investigative strength by solving 18 of 20 recent murder cases swiftly.
Ahead of the festive season, the state has heightened vigilance and undertaken strict security reviews to counter any attempts by Pakistan’s ISI to create unrest. Citizens are being encouraged to support the initiative by reporting gangster and organised crime activities through the Anti-Organised Crime Helpline – 1800-330-1100, with an assurance that their identity will remain confidential.

He emphasised that the vision is to create a Punjab where the youth can thrive free from the menace of drugs, and communities can live in peace and prosperity.
