Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Extends Greetings on Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Gurtagaddi Diwas

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday extended heartfelt greetings to the Sikh community and devotees worldwide on the auspicious occasion of Guru Arjan Dev Ji’s Gurtagaddi Diwas.

In a message shared on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Mann described Guru Arjan Dev Ji as the “embodiment of peace” (ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੰਜ) and reminded people of the eternal relevance of his teachings. Mann wrote:

“ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੰਜ, ਪੰਚਮ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਗੁਰਤਾਗੱਦੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਸੰਗਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਖ-ਲੱਖ ਵਧਾਈਆਂ। ਆਓ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸੁਖਮਨੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਸੁਖਮਈ ਬਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਰਚਨਹਾਰ, ਪੰਜਵੇਂ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਸਾਏ ਸੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ‘ਤੇ ਚੱਲ ਕੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਰੁਸ਼ਨਾਈਏ।”

Translated, the Chief Minister wished peace and happiness to devotees while calling upon them to walk on the path of truth, humility, and devotion as shown by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the composer of the revered Sukhmani Sahib Bani.

Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru, is remembered not only for his spiritual contributions but also for compiling the Adi Granth, the precursor to Guru Granth Sahib Ji. His life and martyrdom continue to inspire millions across the world. His message of universal brotherhood, peace, and service to humanity holds immense significance in today’s times.

The Gurtagaddi Diwas is celebrated with devotion and reverence across gurdwaras in Punjab and worldwide, with prayers, kirtan, and community service marking the occasion.

By extending his greetings, CM Bhagwant Mann highlighted the values of truth, compassion, and spirituality that Guru Arjan Dev Ji stood for, urging the younger generation to imbibe these teachings in daily life.
