Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann extended his heartfelt greetings to devotees on the Prakash Purab of Guru Har Rai Ji, the seventh Sikh Guru, lauding his wisdom, compassion, and devotion to humanity.

Taking to social media, CM Mann tweeted in Punjabi:

(Translation: "He was a symbol of mercy and wisdom, a saintly figure devoted to spiritual enlightenment from a young age. Heartfelt congratulations to all devotees on the Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Har Rai Ji.")

A Legacy of Compassion and Service

Guru Har Rai Ji, born in 1630, was the grandson of Guru Hargobind Ji and was known for his gentle nature, commitment to the welfare of humanity, and efforts in preserving nature. Unlike his predecessors, he was a non-militant leader, focusing on spiritual upliftment and healing. Under his guidance, Sikhism flourished with a strong emphasis on helping the sick and poor.

One of his most significant contributions was establishing medical care centers, providing treatment to those in need. His philosophy of kindness and selfless service continues to inspire millions.

Celebrations Across Punjab

On this auspicious occasion, gurdwaras across Punjab and India are holding special prayers, kirtans, and langars (community meals). Devotees are paying homage by reflecting on Guru Ji’s teachings of peace, humility, and devotion to God.

The Punjab government has also urged people to follow Guru Har Rai Ji’s principles of compassion, environmental preservation, and universal brotherhood.

The Prakash Purab celebrations serve as a reminder of Sikhism’s core values—sewa (selfless service), simran (meditation), and unity, guiding society towards harmony and righteousness.
