Temples and households are decorated beautifully, while devotees reenact episodes from Krishna’s life, particularly his childhood.

In his message, CM Bhagwant Mann emphasized that the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita remain relevant even today. Across Punjab, preparations for Janmashtami are in full swing. Major temples, including those in Ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, and Patiala, have organized special prayers and cultural programs. Markets are decorated with festive lights, while sweet shops are busy catering to the demand for traditional delicacies like makhan mishri, peda, and laddoos. Devotees are also preparing for the popular Dahi Handi celebrations in many regions, symbolizing Krishna’s love for butter and his playful spirit.

Bhagwant Mann, while wishing people, urged citizens to celebrate the festival in a spirit of unity and brotherhood. He highlighted that festivals like Janmashtami not only honor tradition but also strengthen social harmony by bringing people of all backgrounds together.
