In a major breakthrough against terrorism, Punjab Police, with the support of central agencies and the Government of the United Arab Emirates, has successfully extradited Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Parminder Singh alias Pindi from Abu Dhabi to India.
Links to Top Terrorists
Police officials confirmed that Pindi is a close associate of Harwinder Singh Rinda and Happy Passia, both foreign-based terrorists. He has been linked to several heinous crimes, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion rackets in the Batala–Gurdaspur region.
Red Corner Notice Execution
The extradition was initiated after a Red Corner Notice (RCN) was issued at the request of Batala Police. Acting swiftly, a four-member Punjab Police team led by a senior officer travelled to the UAE on September 24, 2024. With the assistance of the Ministry of External Affairs and UAE authorities, all legal formalities were completed to bring the accused back to India.
Zero-Tolerance Towards Terrorism
The Punjab Police highlighted that this operation reflects their zero-tolerance policy against terrorism and organised crime. Officials also underlined the force’s advanced investigative capabilities and global coordination strength.
Acknowledgement of Cooperation
Expressing gratitude, Punjab Police acknowledged the crucial support of the Central Agencies, Ministry of External Affairs, and UAE Government in this operation, describing it as a joint effort to safeguard national security.
