In a major breakthrough, the Amritsar Rural Police apprehended Ravinder Singh, also known as Ravi, a resident of Tarn Taran, and recovered two hand grenades from his possession. Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused had been in contact with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agents and had received the consignment through cross-border channels. An FIR has been registered at Police Station Gharinda, Amritsar, and further investigation is ongoing to uncover the full network.

The Punjab Police emphasized its unwavering commitment to dismantling terror modules, curbing organised crime, and ensuring public safety across the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann praised the police for their swift action, noting that such operations reinforce Punjab’s security and demonstrate the government’s dedication to keeping its citizens safe.

Strengthening Security in Border Areas

This arrest forms part of the Punjab Police’s intensified campaign against terror networks operating in the border regions. The authorities are closely monitoring suspicious activities to prevent any threats to the state’s peace and stability.

Citizen Vigilance Encouraged

Punjab Police has also urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity via the Anti-Organised Crime Helpline at 1800-330-1100. Public cooperation, the police said, plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure Punjab.
