In line with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s vision of making emergency services more accessible and efficient, the Punjab Police has taken a landmark step by integrating the NHAI highway helpline 1033 and the cybercrime helpline 1930 with the state’s existing Dial 112 emergency system.

With this integration, citizens across Punjab can now simply dial 112 to report a wide range of emergencies – from highway accidents and vehicle breakdowns to financial frauds and cybercrime incidents.

A Single-Window Platform for Quick Help

Sharing details about the initiative, MLA Gurdip Singh Randhawa (Dera Baba Nanak) said the move provides multiple critical services under one platform, ensuring faster and easier access for the public. Earlier, citizens had to remember different helpline numbers for reporting road accidents or cyber frauds. Now, Dial 112 serves as a unified gateway to connect with police, NHAI resources, and the National Cyber Crime Portal simultaneously.

He explained that all highway emergency calls made to 112 or 1033 will now be directly linked to both police control rooms and NHAI for swift action. Similarly, victims of cyber fraud can dial 112 or 1930, and their complaints will be registered directly on the national cybercrime portal.

A Complete Emergency Ecosystem

Highlighting the transformation, Randhawa said:

“Whether you are stuck on a highway or facing an online fraud, a single call to 112 will bring you immediate help.”

The integrated 112 system now functions as Punjab’s central emergency response hub, covering police, fire, ambulance, disaster management, highway safety, and cybercrime services. Currently, the system is backed by 257 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and 144 dedicated State Safety Force (SSF) highway patrol vehicles, ensuring rapid assistance across the state.

Government’s Commitment

The Punjab government has prioritized strengthening the service with a budget approval of ₹100 crore for new ERVs and ₹53 crore for the Dial 112 headquarters. Officials said this will make Punjab’s emergency response system one of the most advanced and citizen-centric in the country.
